Wait...isn't tomorrow Halloween? Yes, well-we have already had about as much snow as we did by February last winter. At least that's what it feels like. And its not even November yet! I drove all the way into work yesterday just to decide to close the clinic due to snow. I was having some serious North Dakota flashbacks- we didn't get tons of snow, but the wind was so strong that there are drifts all over the place. Also, the roads had that cool wavey snow thing goin' on, which I love.
I'm back to work today. But even though its warm and sunny (oh, Colorado, I knew it was you), I've still had a slow day. Yay for getting homework done!
So, despite the weather yesterday, we still had the missionaries over to help us paint the living room. The main level is getting close to being done! Yay! I can't wait. We still have to do a second coat, put on the baseboards, etc, etc. But the end is in sight. Just don't remind me that we have a whole upstairs to do too. Ugh.
So, one of the sweetest boys that I see at work came in today. We were looking at pictures (to build vocab). I showed him a picture of a guitar and asked him what is was. He said "di-a-rrhe-a." I'm not really sure where that came from, but it made me laugh:)
Well, happy weekend everyone!

Sad Day
Some sad news. Our fish of almost two years died last week. He had an amazing life. His mom was given to us a couple of years ago. She died after a few weeks, but left behind seven little baby fish. "Dog" (as was his name) was the only one to survive. And survive he did- for two years! Pretty much ancient for a fish. I was sad to see him go. So, I think we have officially broken in our new home because we buried our first pet in the backyard.
After I discovered Dog was gone, Joel asked if we should get another fish. I opted not. A few hours later we were looking at one of those silly Yahoo stories about "boyfriend red flags" just for kicks and giggles. Red flag #2: When your fish dies, he turns around and asks when we are going to buy a replacement. Yahoo suggests to turn and run. Pretty hilarious considering Joel is basically the perfect guy. I'm glad I don't get my advice from Yahoo!!

Our New Home- Before
Enough of the New Zealand excitement. We are fully back to reality now. Work, school, and more work. Which is good because it pays for our new home! After a long and somewhat interesting house-hunting saga, we finally bought a house in July. We've done a few things already to spruce up the floors, but last night we began the adventure of painting the interior. Here are the "before" pictures (technically 'before' we bought the house. They are from the appraisal.) "After" pictures to come.
